Contemporary Maple Kitchen

This clean, contemporary kitchen is scheduled be installed in the first half of February 2010. Once it is finished, I will up-date this post and upload the before and after pictures. Kitchen by Progressive Cabinets, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Door Style: Slab
Wood: Maple Veneer Vertical Grain
Cabinet Style: European Frame-less
Hardware style: TBD
Countertop: Silestone Quartz Stellar Night

This kitchen was designed for the clients retired parents, and as such, certain considerations were made.

Cabinets to the Counter-top- It can sometimes be difficult to raise stacks of plates and bowls overhead to shelves in upper cabinets. By bringing the cabinets down to the counter in select areas, the every-day storage areas are more easily accessible for children and those with limited mobility or range of motion.

Counter-top Appliance Garage- Items such as stand mixers, food processors and blenders can be cumbersome to lift out of lower cabinets. A strategically located Appliance Garage can hide these unsightly appliances, while storing them away in an accessible manner. Garages are also a great place to hide the coffee maker and toaster so they don't clutter up the counter-top.

Drawers Rather Than Doors- We opted to use drawer storage wherever possible in this kitchen. Drawers are easier to access and can store dry goods and pots in a more organized manner. The bottom half of the pantry beside the refrigerator contains 4 roll-outs rather than just shelves for the same reason.
